1. How have you known Dr. Kang Yoon-sik and also this hospital, and in connection with that, how come you have chosen Dr. Kang for meshless hernia repair?
 

Jack: When I was diagnosed with hernia about 2 months ago by my regular physician, he suggested I use local surgeon who uses mesh repair. And the first 3 friends I talked to had a 50% failure rate, one had to go through 5 surgeries. Knowing for well, I couldn’t begin to afford 5 surgeries and of course the pain that will be required. I began to research hernia repair as medical practice and I discovered there were meshless surgeons both in Canada, United State, as well as Dr. Kang in Korea.
And I learned their different processes, as well as I have a special requirement and I must have CRT-D (Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy-Defibrillator) turned off during the surgery. And Dr. Kang came recommended because he has over 10,000 surgeries done. He basically does them all the time therefore he is extremely well practiced. Some of the surgeons I talked to the United State only do about 3 or 4 months because they're just general surgeons, not specialists like Dr. Kang.
When you choose a doctor, you truly want to choose the best doctor in his field. You may have to travel to find him. But that's always the best practice and the most likely to be successful in treatment. So that's basically Dr. Kang took my case because I had a special complication. (Turning the face to the interviewer) He is a representative, chaplain, Dr. not doctor, but Stephen arranged for of the ‘Boston Scientific’ (Medical appliance manufacturer in USA. They have a Korean office nearby) Rep. to come in and Boston Scientific Rep. who just did the CRT-D is better than actually the doctor that I generally attend. So all things considered, it was a very successful treatment.
